Isabella Mae Clark

As many of you know, we got puppy!! It is so exciting, she is so fun and we love her more and more everyday. For months now, I have been trying to get Josh to agree to a dog. Finally last month he said, "We can get a dog when you are done with this semester." I didn't even let him think about what he had said before I was on Petfinder and KSL finding the "perfect" dog for our little family. We agreed we wanted a dog that was about 6 months to a year, that was already house trained, it would just make life a little bit easier. So I was searching, I would find a dog send him the picture and description and tell him we need it! He was a great sport about all of my email bombs with dogs from all over Utah. So the end of the semester came and we started looking at shelters last Thursday, then we went again on Friday. While we found great dogs and dogs that we thought that would fit our family we both weren't 'sold' on any of them. Saturday we went to a couple more shelters, until we finally said well I guess we will go to the Humane Society one more time even though we had been there multiple times and looked at all of the dogs they had online. We walked in, and in the lobby was 4 golden retriever mix puppies!! I took one of them out and started to cuddle and play with her. She was perfect! Josh was a little uneasy about a puppy just with the amount of work they take, but I convinced him (with a little help from Bobby and Elisabeth) that if we get a puppy we can train her the way we want to train her. So we filled out the paper work and got Izzy.

The first picture we took of her at home.
She LOVES to play, anything the squeaks or has frayed edges she can bite.

Josh loves her, they have bonded and in a way "come to an understanding" (Dad)

Medical School

Well, I vowed I would never write a post without pictures because no one really wants to just read my thoughts and feelings about life. But seeing as I am worse at picture taking then at blogging, lucky you, you get to read my thoughts and feelings about life :) For the past 3 weeks I have been a mess with the semester coming to an end and with an impending acceptance or rejection letter hanging over our heads. Needless to say this past week has been quite stressful for the Clark household. We knew we would be getting a letter any day, and in that letter would be an answer that would allow us to plan for medical school in the fall.  I have been telling Josh for about a month now that I am just done with this phase of our life, I feel like I have been stuck in limbo way too long! It would either contain a yes or no, and with this information we would be able to start making plans to move to Omaha, NE for Josh to go to Creighton or planning for a summer vacation.
So, I get home after clinical yesterday around 3, by the way clinical was not eventful at all I was in labor and delivery and there was a whole lot of nothing happening there. I was already bummed and a  little frustrated with the waste of day I had. Our mail generally comes around 3:30-4:00. So I started doing homework in the front room so that I could hear the mail man if he came. Well by 3:30 I was freaking out, about to throw up or cry at any moment. This lasted until about 4:30, when I finally did break down, I didn't understand why today of all days had to be the day the mailman was late... "Really mailman I am done with waiting, don't you know that?" So I had just come to the conclusion that the mailman was not going to come. I sat down and did what any girl would do, watch SMASH and ate chocolate to drown my sorrows.
Josh got home around 5:30, came into the bedroom and had the mail in his hand. "How did I miss it? I was in my room with the window open the whole time?" "YOU SNEAKY, MAILMAN!" As we sat there opening the letter, I knew that our future was going to be decided with this little piece of mail. We start reading and:
"WAIT LIST?!" Are you joking me, I so just wanted this waiting and anticipation to be over! I started to get angry and Josh, being the calm logical man he is said, "Well, I guess we plan for Creighton but hope for the U."
So, that is what we are going to do. We are going to plan on Creighton, people have done worse then get wait listed at their first choice school and accepted to their second. I know that the Lord has a plan for all of us and I know we will be fine and taken care of, even if he is really enjoying toying with "my poor nerves".
We will keep you updated if as events begin to transpire :)

Oregon for Christmas Break

This last week we visited and spent Christmas with Josh's mom in Oregon. It was so much fun!

We rode the Polar Express with Hallie Micah and Stacey, so fun!

Josh grew a beard, he stopped shaving after his last interview and this beauty has been growing ever since. I was awesome... I was kind of sad to see it go because I slightly grew attached to it over the past couple of months.

 Josh's tribute to Tom Selleck
I told him to smile and this is what I got, a weird, awkward smile... I love this guy!

Anniversary

The 27th was our 1 year anniversary! I can't believe it has been a year. Josh and I both feel like it has been so much longer (in a good way). I truly think this last year has been the best ever! I couldn't have picked a better husband, he makes me so happy and there is never a day that we don't laugh. I hope this next year is just as great!

2 months later....

Finally a post.... 2 months later. We have been doing so much the past couple of weeks. Josh has been flying around the U.S. interviewing with a wide range of medical schools. 1 more interview next Monday then we play the waiting game. We will hear from every school from now until March. I'll keep you all posted on the good news. We are just hoping to get into one (preferably the U of U) but really we will go anywhere. Josh had an interview on October 24th in D.C. so I flew out also to see Bobby, Lisabeth, Layla and fetus Robbie. It was so much fun!
Yum meat pretzels!

 Just posing like Mrs. Roosevelt

 Beautiful FALL!
Josh tried to push me in that water. It was nasty and there was a garbage can floating in it....

Hello Everyone

I am 2 weeks into nursing school and thoroughly stressed. I am sure everything will get better once things mellow out and I understand what each teacher is wanting. Josh is working full time at the State Health Lab in the micro department. He really enjoys it but can't wait to start medical school. This next year will be lots and lots of interviews until we get in somewhere. Wish us all luck!
